Automotive Technician Preferred Skills

Automotive Technician Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Work experience 2 + years as an automotive technician required.
• A-level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair.
• Basic computer skills
• ASE or additional certifications increase value.
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and MVR.

Automotive Technician Responsibilities

• Complete system diagnostics and full automotive troubleshooting/testing
• Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
• Road test vehicles to ensure quality work as needed.
• Communicate directly with service advisors regarding the status of the service work.
• Perform efficient and accurate work in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
