Job Summary
Responsible for effectively planning, managing and coordinating all activities in the areas of security. Manages professional employees and/or supervisors and may manage business support/technical staff. Has accountability for managing financial resources. Provides subject matter guidance to employees. Has overall responsibility for developing/administering performance standards for organizational unit. Develops process and procedures to implement functional strategies. Also responsible for the direct management of security personnel. Gives oversight and guidance to all security department members in consultation with the senior management. ment members in consultation with the senior management.

Job Description

Working hours: 11am-7pm on weekdays, and two weekend days a month on a day, swing, or overnight rotation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops and effectively applies established practices to comply with specific guidelines and standards.
  • Manages a team including full-time, part-time and contracted security.
  • Acts as a liaison between security personnel and the Director of Security.
  • Assists in developing and improving crime prevention, awareness and protection services/ programs.
  • Ensures that personnel records, reports, approvals, filings, schedules, written orders etc. are maintained as required.
  • Prepares and documents investigations for Human Resources, legal counsel or law enforcement agencies with minimal supervision.
  • Works flexible hours and is available on call 24/7 as situations warrant.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and extra hours as conditions warrant.
  • Able to write succinct reports, briefings, situation reports.
  • Conducts training, exercises and drills with GSOC staff and contracted security.
  • Writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains revisions.
  • Must be able to create presentations and conduct briefings.
  • Must be proficient in the use of technology and emerging technology.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Knowledgeable of security systems such as access management systems, CCTV, and incident management systems.
  • Experience with GIS systems is a plus.
  • Works flexible hours and is available on call 24/7 as situations warrant.
