Our Technology Operations groups engineer and manage an advanced infrastructure that offers a full range of state-of-the-art residential and business services including Spectrum Internet®, TV, Mobile, and Voice. Through sophisticated innovations and service reliability, we ensure our customers never miss a second of what matters most.

BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

Principal Engineer III is responsible for leading high performing public cloud engineering team across Charter. This role will work to help the team prioritize, build, ship the most impactful features to Charter’s customers and serve as a mentor to help guide and train other engineers on the team. This position will evaluate the needs, time limitations, and system limitations when developing software. This position must remain up to date on new technologies and software development practices and is able to translate these skills to their team’s deliverables.

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Assigned the most complex and critical projects that involve several technical systems and constituents.
  • Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots public cloud platforms in assigned areas.
  • Ability to take a business problem and create a technical solution to solve the problem.
  • Tests and reviews cloud native designs.
  • Provides a high level of Engineering Technical support and guidance to developer customers and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met.
  • Mentors and guides the work of senior technical staff.
  • Ability to present to senior leadership effectively.
  • Ability to create technical documents such as whitepapers, 6 pagers etc.
  • Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Knows, understands,and follows company policy.
  • Performs other duties as requested by manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience
    • Sixteen years (16+) Engineering work experience.
    • Ten years (10+) Public Cloud.
  • Education
    • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience.
  • Technical Skills
    • AWS public cloud – Professional Cert Preferred.
    • Master expert knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
    • Master expert knowledge of cloud native designs, such as microservices, serverless etc.
    • Python or Golang experience required.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Master expert knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber.
    • Master expert knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology.
    • Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
    • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
    • Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
  • Work Environment
    • Office environment.

The base pay for this position generally is between $138,800.00 and $246,400.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
